
As a responsible corporate citizen, CNOOC has been committed to various charities, including poverty relief, Tibet aid, support to needy students and disaster relief. We regard win-win as our philosophy in developing the Company and fulfilling our social responsibility; and we pursue harmonious relationship between the Company and society.
The Company has established the Charity and Commonwealth Committee to be responsible for the planning, management and supervision of charity funds, and has issued regulations on fund management.
Through the year of 2010, CNOOC has accomplished all tasks it has set up for poverty alleviation, aid to Tibet and public benefits related commitments. Specifically, CNOOC has satisfactorily rotated the cadres as aid to Tibet concerned; construction for Sichuan assistance project (phase I) has been progressing as scheduled; constant supports from CNOOC have been contributed to public benefits projects such as Hope Projects, Mother Water Cellars and Soong Ching Ling Fund (SOLF). As a state-owned enterprise, CNOOC also proactively performs its obligation when certain regions across the country suffering from damages caused by natural disasters. For example, assistances have been extended to the stricken areas like the southwest, Yushu, Quzhou and Hainan where experienced severe damage from drought, earthquake, mudslide and rainstorm respectively. By virtue of such works, CNOOC won complete recognition and highly praise from the governments and people of those aided areas.
