Born in 1950, Mr. Zhou Shouwei is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and offshore oil engineering expert who received a Doctor's degree from Southwest Petroleum Institute. Mr. Zhou has nearly thirty years of experience in the offshore oil industry since he joined CNOOC in 1982. He served as Deputy General Manager of CNOOC Bohai Corporation and General Manager of CNOOC (China) Limited-Tianjin Branch. He was appointed as an Executive Director of CNOOC Limited in August 1999, an Executive Vice President of CNOOC Limited in September 1999, and President of CNOOC Limited in July 2002. Since 2000, Mr. Zhou has been a Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member of CNOOC. From July 2002 to March 2009, he served as President of CNOOC Limited and was re-designated as a Non-executive Director in March 2009. From December 2003 to December 2010, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd.
