Born in 1949, Mr. Cao Xinghe graduated from Tianjin Politics and Law Management College majoring in Economic Law. Mr. Cao has over forty years of experience in the petroleum industry beginning work in 1965. He worked for the Shengli and Dagang oilfields before he joined CNOOC in 1982. From 1985 to 2003, Mr. Cao worked as a Manager of Bohai Oil Commercial Company, later as a Manager of Bohai Oil Transportation Company, both being subsidiaries of CNOOC, and later as Deputy General Manager and General Manager of CNOOC Bohai Cooperation, a subsidiary of CNOOC. From April 2003 to July 2004, Mr. Cao worked as an Assistant President of CNOOC and became a Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member of CNOOC in August 2004. Mr. Cao also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited and Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Ocean Oilfields Services (Hong Kong) Limited, both being subsidiaries of CNOOC.
